I was 6 years old when im going vacation with my family.. At duty free store of the airport I used to try many frags (as a perfume lover from the day I was born). When I first taste it i shocked. This smell to me fantastic (i hadnt known about fragrances then and the notes of them). It was realy fantastic scent..woody, clean and powdery.. I wanted to buy it but my mum said me that was too expensive so not. Then I started to crying and a girl from the store gave me a sample of Rush. I have This sample until now. After 2 months when was my name day my parents ask me what i want as a present and i told them that i want The Gucci Rush. They went to five different stores to find it but was already discontinued and i never get it.
This was my story about this fragrance. When i close my eyes i can remember this simple woody ckean powdery scent .. i think so that it was also a bit dusty...
Every time I smell an oud fragrance i remember GRush.. i think so there was oud in it but they dont says it.

YES!!! I have received my 100ml tester in the mail and it is exactly like I remember it in my adolescent years.

First thing I noticed to my nose is the wonderful sandalwood.

As I am sitting here in complete bliss, something is occurring to me...Somewhere in between the Sandalwood, the cypress and musk are whispering Encre Noire!

I won't sit here and say that EN is a good replacement, but I guess I just happened to notice the subtle similarities among the 2.

It really sucks that Gucci keeps discontinuing classic scents like this, but now that I am an owner, again, I must say Rush now is just that much more unique as a result.

This to me will always be a timeless signature classic!

What can i say for this precious juice?
JUST AMAZING!!I always remember the first time that i smelt my precious one and everytime that i smell it i feel exactly like the first time. Truly mood lifter.
My signature scent for years. It is very versatile and wearable during all seasons, time of the day and in any occacion.I did never understand why discontinued it especialy when most of today's perfumes of Gucci seems so predictable and ordinary.
At least i can find it online but as a precious one it is a bit expensive but this never stop me.

Tip:Keep always in mind that fregrances work different on different types of skin, seasons and climate of the country.

This used to be my signature fragrance, and my favorite still .

I fell in love the moment I smelled Gucci Rush Men. As I first sprayed Gucci Rush on my skin two thing’s came to mind, the smell of woody aromatic cypress with fresh juniper berries. About an hour later I get hints of fresh and sweet sandalwood, slowly overpowered by a smoky, strong, smooth and “pleasant” church like incense (frankincense) with rich and warm cedar wood, It’s unlike anything I've ever smelled before or since.

Had I known it was no longer going to be made :C

One of the more vaunted discontinued Gucci Fragrances (like Pour Homme and Envy), Rush for Men has a strong reputation and seemingly special place in the hearts of many male fragrance enthusiasts, so I decided to sample it for the first time by ordering a few sample vials off eBay.

The scent is itself is not at all disappointing, a fresh/spicy/woody mix of lavender, cypress, sandalwood, cedar, and musk, mainly. Several descriptors come to mind: versatile, year-round, masculine.

Performance is a bit more limited than I'd hoped for, being pretty modest on project, albeit with decent longevity.

Certainly Rush for Men is a fragrance I'd have in my collection if it were much cheaper (I imagine it was modestly priced on FragranceNet not so long ago)

one of my first scents i,ve had. During my exploration i started to know better and better scents. I guess most collectors are always on the search for new and different scents with the idea of finding that scent that is even better than the favourite at the moment. This one got on the background more and more.
And now my bottle is officialy for sale to sponsor better stuff because now i just totally don,t give anything about this fragrance anymore.
There are so many way way better sandalwood smells out there. They don,t even have to be expensive to beat this one. (pal zileri for ex.) Go into the niche and you will forget this one easily.
This is an extremely overhyped, (now) overexpensive, flat smelling scent. And then we didn,t even talk about the girly looking plastic cheap ugly bottle.
This one has to stay in the past where it belongs.
Bye bye girly bottle of rush

the bottle is a piece of history of design.

A fitting bottle for a slightly plastic wood scent. I might more specifically call it a wood-shop or lumberyard aura. This is one of the weakest I've ever owned, a lot like Azzaro Visit toned down by at least half, and without the more unpleasant chemical aspects. By that comparison, it's both an improvement in composition and a major downgrade in strength and longevity. I'll also grant that it has a more accurate "outdoorsiness" than other wood scents I've tried, if that's what you're after. Looking out my window at snow-covered pinon and juniper, I can't help but feel its connection to this scene. Rush doesn't change much on me, but just keeps getting weaker until it quickly fades into oblivion, even on clothing...unless the bottle I got was just too old, but then I would have expected a lack of topnotes rather than a quiet disappearance. And even forgetting about strength and longevity, it feels a bit like an unfinished composition, an incomplete portion of a mixture that doesn't know what else to do because it hasn't been given enough ingredients by the perfumer. I can't give it anything but thumbs down because it's already gone.

          dvbdvb

this one isn't for me, it has good lasting power, but the overall aroma is somehow i hate it ...

          gatsby

even with a nice composition, not unique (yes, very close to visit but less lasting) but pleasant, the quality in sillage and longevity is an absolutely shame. I don t remember any moment when I had this scent on my skin... A fail in my opinnion, discontinued for a very good reason.

In the year 2000 I was young, hopeful, idealistic and demanding (well, still am).
In the year 2000 I walked into a shop and tested Gucci Rush for the first time.
In the year 2000 I made a detailed list of all the qualities I wanted to see in my future husband :) One of the points was that he owns and wears Gucci Rush for men. Lol. I am not kidding. In my view, that was the best male fragrance. The fragrance worthy of my perfect man. I really loved its epic sandalwood and cedar combo (well, still do).
20 years later I found that notebook and I can't describe how much fun I had re-reading those hand-written notes. Would I change any point now? Would it still include Gucci Rush for men? Undoubtedly. Though I'd definitely add a couple (dozens ;) ) more frags to the list, I still believe Gucci Rush to be one of the best male fragrances ever created.

          I absolutely loved it.

The reasons behind discontinuing this could only come from being produced by a fashion house where everything needs to be constantly evolving.

One of the best I’ve ever had.

          Flying Dutchman

I am one of those who really love the original Rush for men and I cherish the last drops of the original 2003 batch.

I have been on the lookout for a replacement since this was discontinued and it has not been easy.
I think Lorenzo Villoresi Sandolo and Tom Fort Santal Blush come the closest, but that is personal.

Contrary to below review, I would not recommend Azzaro Visit, that was not a success. Luckily 100 ml is only EUR 17, so no great loss. The bottle is still on my shelf, because are dare not gift it away.

          FragChronic

          Buy Visit, save 450 dollars.
          it even has better performance.
just saying, rush is nice don't get me wrong but the performance is as terrible as everyone says, not like Envy or Pour Homme 1 , which last a good 12 hours. This is a few hours.

          Bison blues

This is terrible. So many better cypress cedar options. I believe that the alcohol has turned in this old sample. It makes a pungent first impression, but as it settles it makes a decent cypress (more than cedar) smell. The sandalwood seems to be absent in my experience. Juniper is kinda there, but not impressed.

          slpfrsly_

Very nice scent. Similar to Wonderwood, but I definitely prefer this. A nice, mellow, peppery-juniper-woodiness which is calming yet firm at the same time.

I can totally see why anyone who wore this 20 odd years ago would be reluctant to give it up - but I do struggle to see the justification for the price and prestige it has now it's discontinued. I paid £4.5/ml for my sample, which isn't what full bottles are selling for, but even at £2/ml for a used bottle, this is a tough sell.

Definitely lends itself to a signature scent, it's masculine yet timeless. One thing worth noting - the opening is weird and pungent. It's not just alcohol, it outright smells like floor cleaner, and this persists for a solid 5 minutes (EDIT: Strangely, this only seems to happen sometimes. Maybe it's my environment, how 'fresh' my nose is, and other factors, but sometimes that cleaning product aroma is strong, other times barely there. Either way, it's not permanent.).

I think I would happily wear this in autumn and spring, basically any time, any day.

Performance is an issue - not necessarily longevity, but projection. It's very soft, and therefore the fact it lasted about 5-6 hours on my skin is largely irrelevant as you could barely smell it for most of that time. 'Practical' longevity is barely 2 hours. If I were to wear this, my honest application would be about 1-2ml of fragrance per wear. Almost like an aftershave. Slap it on a good half an hour before having to be around other people - wait for that pungent opening to burn off - and that might solve things. But at the price this costs, even if you owned several bottles that would be financially inadvisable.

I would definitely consider this as a keeper/full bottle if it weren't so expensive. As it is, considering the price of Wonderwood - I have a sample of the Azzaro as well - I think modern iterations could cover what has been lost to most people through discontinuation of Rush. Though not perfectly similar, I'd suggest fans of this try Acqua di Parma's Ginepro and Cipresso. They are in the same ballpark, though not quite as well blended, in my opinion.

EDIT 19/9/19: I've doused myself in it tonight. A full 1ml on wrists and shoulders. It's more detecable, but it's still totally soft (EDIT: and lasted no longer than 5-6 hours again). For me, this is about 10% of what it needs to be in terms of performance, and there is a cut-off point when it comes to wearability, and Rush is simply on the wrong side of that line. I dare say this is a vintage which has, simply, expired (UPDATE: I eventually bought and bottle and it had the exact same performance, which is consistent what people said about it on first release). Apparently my sample came from a recently opened bottle - if true, it's one of the unluckier scents in that it must have never been built to last. Who knows, it may have been stored under lights etc., but even reading reviews from the early 00s on basenotes suggests this was always a poor performer, and time can only have ravaged it even further. It's so much worse than Envy or Gucci Pour Homme - which are both pretty ordinary in longevity/projection - and although I really, really enjoy the scent, its performance is terminal.

Azarro Visit is a poor replacement as well, doesn't cut it for me. Would love to see a remake - akin to Bentley Absolute and GHP1 - but until then this was just a nice try. It absolutely lends itself to a signature scent, but not at £100+ a bottle which would give you about 150 wears.

If I were to sum this up, this is pretty much the tipping point of designer and niche. Yes, there are thousands of options in the niche and indie world for a cypress or cedar or sandalwood scent - but they vary in quality, obviously, but also wearability. This still 'feels' like a perfume - it feels like most men could wear it, and some men would really enjoy wearing it and make it 'their' scent. It's got enough about it to be attractive to others, is masculine and timeless so could be worn from mid 20s and up, yet it's also got some artistry here that foreshadows the niche world of 'woody' scents. It's superior to Wonderwood in that regard in that the drydown smells like an 'aftershave', not just an aroma, while still retaining this 'real woods' vibe. It feels like something you'd never be uncomfortable wearing which - dear me - cannot be said for about 80% of niche fragrances I've tried, and a solid 60% of recent designers as well. That is my one gripe with modern perfume - all these options, and yet a designer from 20 years ago is in some ways superior to what is being produced today. It feels like perfume is being made more to titillate, try, and throw away, than it is to be worn with any regularity. Or to be so mundane that anyone can wear it, any time, without it complementing their style or apperance. A shame. I still like the idea of a signature scent, and accepting you can't own everything in the search to get there. Were this a lot stronger, I think I may well have found a place for it, but it's not, so I haven't.

I'll probably keep my eye on the used market to see if I can pick up a bottle for a reasonable price over the next few months - mainly to see if this shocking performance is universal - but I won't be desperate to do so (UPDATE I did, really tried, but the performance is a killer. This feels more like an investment piece than a wearable scent now.).

Performance issues aside, this would be a 9/10 for me. As it is, it's impossible to go higher than a 5. To try to find some kind of middle ground I'll leave it at 7.5/10.

          Back To The Future

If they asked me that the smell could have the future, this fragrance would come to mind. It seems an essence that has come to us with the capsule of time, it seems to have come out of the Scream video by Michael and Janet Jackson, starting from the bottle, a parallelepiped made of plastic and white metal, which recalls so much the purity, and the modern minimalism of the perfume, a bottle that looks like it looks like the packaging of the first iPods, born a few years later. After the 2000s, Gucci churned out three important masterpieces, Gucci pour homme, Gucci Envy and Gucci Rush for Man, the latter notch above his siblings.
It opens with very aromatic and sophisticated woods, almost soft and creamy, however creamy a wood could be, Mysore sandalwood, Bois d'Okoumé and juniper blend with an incense base, white musks, patchouli and lavender that makes the fragrance slightly powdery, clean, modern and slightly lactaginous. A woody-spicy, all the ingredients are clear, limpid, bleached, the perfume plays on the white color, on soft geometries, on neutrality, with a futuristic concept, very linear, aseptic but at the same time relaxing, comforting, beautiful, young, suitable for any occasion, hyper-versatile, in any context, I can't find a time of year where to place it, but I would avoid the hot months.
In the perfume there is also the touch of Tom Ford and you can see (and hear) and coincidentally many indelible scents of past years have his signature. For just this reason, every perfume collector should have this piece of history, or rather, this fragment of the future.

This is sooo beautiful and heavenly. Fresh cut woods and powdery. A lot of the people compared this to encre but not for me. Enre is mysterious dark and damp scent of a dark forest. This fragrance is much more sweet and relaxing. A beautiful fragrance. Too bad it sticks to skin and doesn't radiate enough for me.

OMGOSH, OMGOSH!!!!! Many moons ago, when my now hubby and I were dating (we're married 21 years), I stumbled into, not one, but two bottles of this Gucci Rush at a T.J. Maxx for $7 a bottle, red tag clearanced out. I loved the fragrance. My then boyfriend (now fragrance obsessed hubby) did not use fragrance at all. He was a soldier in the Army. A shower and a swipe of deoderant was all he aspired to. I turned him on to Aramis (sex in a bottle...read my review on that one...it's pretty entertaining). He loves his Aramis...and so do I. But I want him to mix it up a bit. So now he has a number of different fragrances on a tray on his dresser. He hadn't used the Gucci Rush but maybe once. It's been sitting there all unloved. I have 350+ in my collection, so I haven't even thought about raiding his stash. Until one night I picked up that unique Gucci Rush bottle, square plastic but with white metal sides. Very odd presentation. I just sniffed the nozzle. Heavenly! But with everything I've had for a long time and suspect it could be vintage, I came to Fragrantica and then to eBay. These bottles (and remember, we have two) go for upwards of $500 each!!!! The next morning I pointed to those two bottles (99% full as they have probably been sprayed once each) and exclaimed, "Don't touch those, don't look at them, don't get anywhere near them!!!!" Of course he thinks I'm nuts, but what else is new? When I showed him how much they are going or he said, "What fool is going to pay $500 for a bottle of this?" And then he remembered the unsharpened gross of vintage pencils we bought for $1.95 at a thrift shop. I looked those up on eBay and it turns out they are worth about $2,500! Cut to hubby putting the Gucci Rush in the fire safe along with the pencils. Hey, we have a 10 year old son that's going to need college tuition in the future. Something to think about...???

          Labaloo

Awesome fragrance in all respects! Sits closer to the skin, but longevity is beyond 14 hours on a warm day... radiating superb wood-tones... really beautiful. Serene and versatile. Shame it's discontinued.

          11PHOSPHORUS11

This was the first "proper" scent I had.
Beautiful cedar and soft lavender for a great balance.
You can't replace it, and even though I understand Gucci has to look at a profitable products it's a shame it's discontinued.
I agree it doesn't last long and it never did but I loved using it often throughout the day.
          Get it if you can!!!
          Total 9/10

          Yes, yes, yes!
Good and pleasant fragrances to wear!
Why are people complaining about the performers!? It hase excellent performance on me, even if I'm with dry skin.

          Thonzzz

The best sandalwood based fragrance. Gosh I wish this wasn't discontinued. 9/10

          Unfinished

This one is so cool. Dark, enigmatic, and a wholly masculine cedar composition.. A very good attempt before the infamous P&G era.

          gatsby

A nice innofensive scent, but with no doubd, worst Gucci scent ever made as sillage (inexistent!) and 30 minutes longevity. Similar (almost identical) with VISIT, but the Azzaro is a masterpiece in front of Rush. A waste of money, stay away!

I had the chance to try Gucci Rush For Men last week from a 50 ml. bottle my brother has.

I sprayed it on my wrist two weeks ago and, the following day, it could faintly be sensed. It is a very pleasant and unique aroma, a tad similar to Boss Bottled due to its woody notes; it is dominated by cypress, incense, and cedar, with a fresh, original camphorated touch. However, after 40-60 minutes, it feels generic and somewhat bland. The projection and sillage are very low for a perfume that sells for sky-high prices nowadays--I understand why it was discontinued. Gucci Rush is a very beautiful, but mediocre perfume because of its pale performance, which should be a reason not to have become an object of worship.

In summary, it was good to know this fragrance, but it is NOT worth spending so much money on it, even less considering it offers way too little. For the price, I prefer other alternatives such as Jules or M7.

          Fragrance: 8/10
          Longevity: 6/10
          Projection: 3/10

Have you ever remember your first love? The one from younger days that you thought will never end? For me Gucci Rush has that meaning. It was the fragrance I adored and suddenly passed away. Actually it was killed, and that made it inmortal. Like many others, I tried to find the charmings of it's beauty somewhere else but barely found them. Then Wonderwood appeared and a part of my loss was recovered. Truth is, life will never be the same without it. I still pray for the miracle that someone brings it back.

          thethe

Does it really smell like Profile Amber18? I have no way of knowing since I don’t own this but Amber 18 is great!
Let me know if anyone feels the same.

          Epk

          Flying Dutchman

This fragrance has been discontinued for many years, so yours must be a fairly old bottle, turned bad.
I kept mine stored in a dark place and at moderate temperature and it is still as glorious as ever.
For me it is still a monument to great perfumery.

          TedLapidus

A personal favorite . iconic package as M7 I do still have two full 50ml bottles of it.

          Fausto74

I feel strongly frankincense. Where is frankincense in pyramide? Discontinued with Envy toegether. Very stupid decision. We want them back!!!!! I want back : Nobile, Envy, and Rush!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

          RC2017

I bought this when it first came out. I remember loving the woody scent but returned it days later because it was my first experience with a cologne that had zero longevity and sillage.

          landshark321

This is what heaven should smell like. You will fall in love instantly the very first time you smell it.

          My signature fragrance.

Don't talk through your hat with your pedantry. You'd better make out the launch time of "GUCCI-RUSH for men" and "AZZARO-VISIT for men".The latter one is undoubtly a poor copy of GUCCI.Embarrased for you~
GUCCI made several masterpieces at that time when TF was still in CUCCI,RUSH FOR MEN is one of them.

          gatsby

even with a nice composition, not unique (yes, very close to visit but less lasting) but pleasant, the quality in sillage and longevity is an absolutely shame. I don t remember any moment when I had this scent on my skin... A fail in my opinnion, discontinued for a very good reason.

          Anast

Every time I smell an oud fragrance i remember GRush.. i think so there was oud in it but they dont says it.

          psychocandy

Honesty I've had Rush, sartorial, and trend at the same time, Trend by Les Copains is hands down the closest, so much so that (because rush and trend are pretty fleeting in strength) I would douse myself with the two and it was almost seamless...after giving in to the hype and seeking out all the Guccis from my youth I excorsised some fragrance demons and I'm glad I did because none accept GPH lived up to my memories of them

          cytherian

UPDATE: I finally have a partial bottle, versus a fleeting sample. And it's still my preference to Tam Dao and Sartoriale. It's just a shame it was discontinued. Another GUCCI failing... they discontinued so many greats. If there was one thing I found disappointing about RUSH is that they tried to be too clever with the bottling. There is NO GLASS in this. There is a soft plastic flask where the fragrance resides, surrounded by a hard plastic cage accented by metal sides. The bottle is clever. But I wish they would have invested in a glass flask, like they did with vintage YSL Jazz. A little crafty white rubber padding would have helped keep the glass intact against breakage (the cage inherently provides a buffer already).
          _______________________________________________________

Many people compare Gucci Rush to Diptyque Tam Dao and Pal Zileri Sartoriale.

Tam Dao: This has a prominent dry cypress note that smells a lot like cedar. It has a sharpness that is absent from Rush. Rush is softer, with lavender and juniper making it more distinctive.

Sartoriale: Closest to Gucci Rush, as I've found thus far. Nearly identical at the onset, but into the drydown they differ. There is a soft, warm sweetness to Rush with a hint of menthol/camphor that you don't get with Sartoriale (a simpler more linear scent). Rush is superior, but alas, for the price point Sartoriale is a fine runner up.

          i_mastino

A very clean fragrance. I love it. I do still have a full 50ml bottle of it.

          shavenonthedarkside

This is a scent that is light enough where it is similar in STRENGTH to Molecule 01. I did not say in smell, and I did not say it is weak. What I mean is it is the type of scent wear the user can SOMETIMES think it is undetectable, but the fragrance is well at work. It is a classy earthy scent that is wearable around all people, seasons, events, and situations. It blends, it become you, it makes you naturally (the earthiness) smell great. It is hard to believe years ago this sold at Wal Mart for less than $25--a gem. BUT I do not believe it it is work these crazy prices now it is discontinued. There are many other frags that are of equal quality and in the same fragrance segment. I bought it again cause I am hooked on buying fragrances:) and it brings back a lot of memories, because it was my signature scent.

          SNOOPY

When i saw it on a counter I thought somebody forgot their iPod.
Doesn't even look like a perfume bottle

          SARARAMOS

ACCORDING TO Asrul Afrizal REVIEW, I ORDERED "WOOD INTENSE" BY GERPARLYS PARFUMS, AND I MUST SAY IT IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT TO GUCCI RUSH - Very disappointing !!!

          Salonica AΡΗΣ city

Ι find one last gucci rush bottle to a store and i bought it with discount.
Well longevity is moderate and sillage maybe heavy but no way enormous.Does not lasts on skin for so long.
The dry down is like a levander soap and i thing it's more a unisex frag than a 100% male.
For day use just a safe option i don't believe it's so great as other reviews says for sure not a waste of money but nothing to special just a nice frag like many others.
Sandalwood is not as strong i read and i expect levander dominates

          kaksmith

How could such a great fragrance be NOWHERE to find??? Sobbing* I am willing to buy a bottle or wateva is left of this amazing juice.. If any one is selling/ willing to sell or split pls DM me aaaaaaasap.

I saw a a knockoff over diluted version in Dubai, I almost teared up. Lmao

          Takeshi

The bottle's all made of plastic! I don't think that's a good thing. I haven't smelt it yet, but I'm gonna fall in love, arn't I?

The question still remains. Plastic and alcohol. Do we have science guys/ladies here? Also, I can't make decant out of this easily, hmm... I wasn't thinking about this sort of things when I got this.

ETA: So, I haven't been wearing this much, the bottle saids it all, if the price was right, it's decent, pretty good. I understand the hype, I like the sandalwood. This from the guy who's getting a bit cynical about designer bottles, most of the perfumes I own are from designer brands, but I'm just saying this is not that special, the perfomance is not special. Just test it from a friend or something, and move on.

          maltatude

This is one of the greatest men's fragrances that has ever existed. Oh how I love this to death. It's devastating to not have it anymore. The closest I have found is Pal Zileri Sartoriale and Wonderwood by Comme des Gar?ons but nothing is like this.

          samofthesouth

There's sorcery and alchemy in these here bottles...

This juice literally fizzes and crackles with warmth, exuberance, and good intentions.

It feels like a masculine pink scent (if that makes sense!)

It doesn't last forever or even a very long time, but then neither do rock stars...

          Longevity is around 4-6 hours.

Sillage is great for the first 2 hours, but who cares.... This juice is too special to enrich other noses; spray it predominantly under your top, so that you can sporadically, and greedily gorge on its opulence for the duration of its skin life.

Comparisons with Azzaro Visit are not valid to my nose; its like comparing Oasis to The Beatles... Many use longevity and sillage with which to anoint Visit as king, but even in those categories Rush triumphs.

On my olfactory list, Gucci Rush is always Top 20

          Alon

My first impression of Rush was "long lasting with big projection".
I remember spraying it in the morning and enjoying it until the evening.
I am about to finish my Rush and I can say that its performances today are less than 20% of what they used to be when I bought it.

I think that RUSH has a very short shelf life. Does anyone think the same?

It might be a good idea to compare reviews from its first years on the market to its recent reviews.

          kasper.larsen.13

          I absolutely love this cologne.
Anybody knows how to find it (for a non hyped price?)

          Maxvonembs

This starts out very dry & woody (LOADS of ISO E Super) and finishes with a slightly "dated" soapy but pleasant smell. The comparisons to Azzaro Visit are somewhat accurate but Visit is a better fragrance with more discernable notes and MUCH better perfomance.

There is a reason this is no longer produced, it didn't sell very well and the performance of the fragrance is/was marginal at best.

A skin scent on my body in less than an hour. While this is okay, it does not live up to the hype and the prices it brings on Flea-Bay are just insane.

          2.5/10 Overall

          trippy

rather low on sillage and duration.. pretty sure if this juice was stil on the shelves half of the hype would be gone in a minute!

          Jackman 2

After reading all the reviews I only wish I had bought this when it was around. Does anyone know where to buy this???

          Alon

RUSH was first love. Perfect in any way!!!!

I have been looking for sooo long and spent so much time on the internet to find a reasonable replacement for my old favorite GUCCI RUSH or men.
Thank's to reviewers, here at Fragrantica, I tried Azzaro Visit for Men and it is close.
Wonderwood is a great high quality fragrance that smells even closer
Pal Zileri Sartoriale is almost the same as RUSH but with very bad performances

          lovetribe

oh my god that masterpiece !!!!!!!! do not know where to start to describe it. is a kind of milky sandalwood musk. a smooth fragrance that makes you feel good, is not excessive and does not want to be, not pungent, does not want to get noticed, but it does and also very good. seems a version 1.0 of body kouros. knows the man decided, clean. suitable for all year round and for every occasion. until now I had never experienced such a wonder. I'm in love. for me there are other notes not listed: a bit of incense, a light touch of purple. can also remind eau des Baux and slightly Fahrenheit ...
dusty, balsamic, woody without irritare.un amazing scent. I now understand all know fame 10/10 !!!!!
          sexy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

          daithi

Another excellent perfume created under the art direction of Tom Ford. A beautiful combination of peppery incense, sandalwood and musk. Clean and woody with a mystical touch. It's a pity that nowadays Gucci is launching so many banal creations and they discontinued all the visionary jewels that Ford created for them in the early 2000s (Gucci eau de parfum, Gucci pour homme, the Rush duet).

          Arbre Amer

A much lamented love this one. The perfect spicy-woody. So deep and comforting and yet edgy and distinctive at the same time. The composition judging from the notes doesn't seem to hold many promises. Simple and straightforward it seems. Let me assure you it was not. This was one of those now rare fragrances I would call "magnetic". It compelled you to lean closer for a good inhale. Aaaah, can't think of any mainstream masculine that can do that these days. On top of that it had great longevity and sillage. A great shame Gucci discontinued it. Can't imagine it ever selling poorly so I don't see the logic in that. Not to mention it was the product of the collaboration of two great noses. Up to this day I haven't found any niche, let alone mainstream product that resembles this. Price for a vintage bottle has skyrocketed so... farewell my love

          weaselize

one of my first scents i,ve had.

          StillMarxist

          Voluptuous, philosophical, frank, magical…

The most dominant scent which I feel in this perfume is definitely incense. Because of incense I think it is the most philosophical scent ever.

It makes impression of nostalgia, like a “day after holidays” feeling, it is like “first time kiss” feel in stomach, like beautiful autumn day in October…
It reminds that everything goes and there is nothing that is last forever except our memories.
Thing about its discontinuing just make this story more completed.

Gucci Rush for men is a mystical charming young gentleman who is well-read, highly educated, very rare, does not talk much, but says a lot, very friendly and polite, unexplored, very impressive but unobtrusive, individual, philosophically minded, doubting, and he is primarily himself…

          Only for the selected ones.

          manos1965

          Very unique frangance.
          Unmistakeable Tom Ford era.
          Longevity and projection are excellent.

          Dagonista

          One of my favorite colognes.
It didn't last very long. One time through my travels in 2012, the bottle seeped alittle onto my ipod leather cover. It still smeels of it. Every time I use my ipod I'm reminded how awesome the scent is.

          fuggerone

can't dig the hype on this very overrated scent...light in its sillage/projection/duration... an expensive bric a brac piece..want the same trip for less just get Pal Zileri Sartoriale, wasn't this juice discontinued its very constructed cult wouldn't exist...mediocrity taken to the stratosphere....
save your money on something else!

          quillerpl

I love it. I used to wear it years ago and I have been trying to find good replacement ever since. I think the closest one is Comme des Garcons Wonderwood. Not exactly the same but very close.

          psychocandy

I just scored a 50ml bottle. This may sound crazy...but I smell the DNA of Tom Fords Tuscan Leather in it, its the smoky musk part.....i have had this experience with TF fragrances a few times....Anyway, I have Sartoriale, and Trend Lui by Les Copains. Let me tell you, TREND is by FAR closer than Sartoriale..so close I almost got bummed out I bought Rush, but this last only for the first 15 seconds. Trend and Rush go on like a mesquite repellent - very sharp - then dry to a smoky woody scent. However, Trend is quite weak and a bit 'thinner'. Im actually getting decent performance from Rush, similar to other Gucci frags from TF era. This one seems to benefit from body heat. I finally understand the hype...If this were in a black and gold TF bottle and called Bois de Santal, it would cost $250. Its as good as any of his private blends. Im going to go out on a limb here to say if you want something that does what Rush does in terms of a 'vibe', get Tuscan Leather and skip all the knock-offs, Trend is good as a body spray, Sartoriale is too creamy and has floral notes that miss the mark Rush hits in the smoky incense and manly category. If you had a vile of Tuscan Leather and Rush and a/b them, you would see what Im talking about. TL is way stronger (and different) but I can't shake the way they have this similar vibe. Ok now one more for the crazy department...you know what else gives me this vibe(Rush, Tuscan Leather)?.....China White by Nasomatto.

          AHumbleApprentice

This used to be my signature fragrance, and my favorite still .

Confident, Refined, Original, Bright, Fresh, Lively, Clear, Warm, Smooth, Smoky, Woody, Masculine.

Had I known it was no longer going to be made :C

          al.to

          the best among its copies.
the bottle is a piece of history of design.
The parfum is a harmonious contemporary and unsex melody

check my profile if someone needs to have this amazing!

Santal Blush - Tom Ford?? No way... Even at 50% does not smell like Gucci Rush.

          GianGG

I smelt this one last week for the first time. I laugh when I spray it on my wrist because it's so good. The sandal wood smells realy authentic. I didn't like tam dao and I was not impressed by santal blush but I really love this one. Rush for men makes a nice and strange effect with its musk and its incense.
          The new yorker said:
"Talk story about Gucci’s designer Tom Ford and the debut of Gucci Rush for Men fragrance in Milan... In Milan, the arrival of Rush for Men was regarded with the same excitement as the completion of the Human Genome Project in Washington. Gucci estimates that it will sell twenty-five million dollars’ worth of the stuff in the first year. "

Tom Ford knows what real luxury is and he really cared about the luxury image of Gucci.

I stumbled upon something that made my day! Here in Italy there are these cheap stores that are owned by the chinese which are basically a cross between the dollar store and a cheap clothing store .. They do sell counterfeit "fake" fragrances but I would not dare buy one of those in fear of spraying goat piss or antifreeze on my skin.. But right on the shelf below the counterfeits were the cheap legitimate imitation fragrances similar to those they sell in walgreens or the dollar general in the states.. But the brand that makes these imitations is a small unknown Italian brand.. So I was looking through these imitations, and most of them were newer fragrances like Blue De Chanel and Gucci Guilty but I mysteriously stumbled upon a old Gucci Rush for men imitation that I had no idea ever existed.. It smelled just like Rush but it was a cheap quality weak imitation but I still bought it for the scent! I found four bottles left of these Rush imitations and bought then all! What a find! A find I never would have expected.. I usually do not buy imitations but because it was Rush I just had to.. Love it!

This actually smells a lot like Nag Champa incense. For those of you not familiar with that think of cedar and sandalwood combined with musk and lavender. Very "woodsy powdery" in a nice way. The good reviews on this thread are valid.

I really like it...smells mysterious and unique but, must have been discontinued because of the clunkly box it's housed in lol! Tried to spray my chest and hit my chin instead! This is one hell of a solid fragrance though. Really good if you can find it. Good luck!

Reincarnation of Gucci Rush : Silvan - Rouge Bunny Rouge
          Its almost the same stuff...!

Indian sandalwood fragrance, with notes divine incense. I find it similar to Santal Blush but better, more refined and durable. I think his reputation is deserved, it is an indisputable masterpiece of art of perfumery and design.
          A unique scent.

VanMarlton .. The ratings on the longevity, sillage, and the similar fragrances are all skewed.. There is someone that had a profile by the name of isobutyl that is intentionally messing this page up.. He continuously makes multiple fake profiles on fragrantica to skew everything in his favor and bully people.. You will find some of his fake reviews here and on a few other pages.. You are definately right, there is very little projection, sillage, or longevity.. The scent is amazing and intoxicating but it doesnt last.. It still is one of my favorites though..

I adore the feminine version of Gucci Rush, so I was very curious to try the men's version. It is satisfying to know that these two fragrances were definitely created to complement each other. The female version has a very intentionally plasticky peach component, which is found in the male version as plasticky wood. It is a moderately musky sandalwood and cypress fragrance, very brisk, with a heavy dose of artificiality. I feel like most of the identity of Rush for Men is shown at the onset, and unfortunately its character wears off very, very quickly. It dries down to a faint woodsy musk in about 10-15 minutes.

Rush for Men was released in 2000 and although it was probably very trendy and on-point at the time, it smells very passé and dated now. As expensive as this fragrance has become due to discontinuation, it's not really worth the price you'd end up paying for it. It's definitely not bad, but I think it probably appeals more to others far more than it does to me. There are better sandalwood/cypress fragrances that are more easily attainable. Maybe Rush for Men is one that should be left in the past.

I found the reincarnation of this!
          Rouge Bunny Rouge - SILVAN.
Very, very similar scent. Its amazing.

I don't get it. Rush, along with Envy, Nobile, and Pour Homme 1 were 4 of the greatest fragrances ever made for men and they all came from Gucci. Now what do they have? Eight different versions of guilty, made to measure, a sad remake of PH. All of it just synthetic inferior scents. It would be like Ferrari deciding to just stop making the best cars in the world and instead make something to compete with Chevy. Makes no sense! Shame on you Gucci for taking away all these great scents and insulting us with the current crap.

I am at a loss as to why the votes above are still being messed with .. They are far from accurate! I am also at a loss as to why my comments are still being deleted when all I am trying to do is help? I will keep on commenting until this page gets put back to normal..

First step getting Isobutyl Wandaw and his other fake profiles deleted - Accomplished - .. Next step is to get these false similar fragrances above .. Sandalo , Marriage Equality, deleted..

today I tried Santal Blush by tom ford and I found that are similar but unfortunately Santal Blush is very expensive and Gucci rush is hard to find, I think Gucci rush for man has more persistent on my skin and honestly i prefer it, in my opinion it's a masterpiece

My mother use to wear Gucci Rush for women a long time ago but I remember the smell of it quite clearly, and I loved it! When I had heard that Gucci Rush for men existed I decided that I had to get my hands on a bottle.. It had took me a long time hunting some down but finally I had accomplished my goal! After reading reviews and looking at the notes it smells a lot like how I imagined it.. It is a beautiful woody scent! It definitely has similarities to its female counterpart, for example they both have this strange synthetic vibe to them while still maintaining a natural high quality scent.. I believe they both contain lac-tones that give them somewhat of a milky vibe.. Rush for men is a very woody fragrance and it smells absolutely amazing! I absolutely love the way the scent opens up with a beautiful combination of lavender, a gorgeous cypress note, and the milkiness from the lac-tones.. The opening is one of the sexiest openings I have ever come across and is by far my favorite of all of my fragrances! That initial blast of lavender, cypress, and exotic woods is just so stunning! After the opening Rush starts to change into a very woody incense fragrance.. The sandalwood and cedar combination is great and smells very mysterious and sexy.. The incense is there but low key.. Rush has a synthetic vibe to it but to me it still smells very natural.. I happen to love that "plastic" synthetic note that you find in Rush, it is unique.. This synthetic note was made to resemble the scent of "poppers" and the lovely white video cassette shaped bottle was meant to go along with that theme.. When I wear Rush it tends to change and smell differently each time I wear it.. It opens somewhat fresh with the cypress and than turns into a warmer, darker, and more sensual scent.. It is great for casual wear and it is sexy enough for dates and close encounters.. Rush does smell like something that was released in the year "2000" but It was very modern for it's time.. The only problem I have encountered with Rush for men is that the longevity is lacking and the projection is nearly non existent.. I can only smell it on my skin for up to 3-4 hours max, and after the first ten minutes it becomes a extremely light skin scent.. Rush for men has the worst performance out of any fragrance I own.. Even though the projection and longevity are far from what I would like it to be the scent of Rush itself is out of this world! I can only imagine how amazing Rush would have been if it were more potent.. I do believe that the performance issues were Rush's downfall hence its discontinuation.. If Rush was more potent not only would it have done better but it would most likely have been my favorite fragrance.. I wear Rush when I am going out and want to enjoy myself rather than impress others, or I wear it around the house and keep the comforting orgasmic scent all to myself! If Rush was still around and still being made than It would most definitely be my signature scent! It is a travesty that Rush was discontinued to produce inferior fragrances.. I hope that Gucci will one day resurrect Rush from the dead along with the other classic Gucci fragrances.. Gucci Rush has become one of my all time favorite fragrances!

This smells wild, i mean, capital W.I.L.D...

Although I am a big sucker for flacons and the plastic bottle doesn't really appeal to me at the first sight; but the aura of the juice itself is beyond my control.

If you've ever used Rush Poppers, this is the perfume minus that 'high' sensation. Young, wild, intoxicating, seductive, and FREE.

It's a "Teenage Dream" spirit by Katy Perry, to "It's my Life" by Bon Jovi. Think about cK One ads in 1990s, take a shot of vodka or something, smile and lose yourself in any imaginable euphoria.

Longevity, perfect, from 6 hours to 12 hours. Silage, contagious enough to make the people around you feel wild and look at you. It's a jungle in a city, a dance floor in a prison, heaven in a place far far away,... if you want to touch yourself, go ahead, hahaaaa.... Afterall, not many fragrances can do that.

Wait, is today Friday? Look no further if you have this in your closet, wear it today and get lucky!

I can't give it anything but thumbs down because it's already gone.

          cottonpop

Got a sample, but I like to wear it, haha, even though it's for men.

          raffy1925

i miss this perfume, this is my favorite...hey guys? any frag similar for this?

          raffy1925

this is my fragrance when i was in almaty kazakhstan. all i can say is this is seductive fragrance if you want to impress a woman, i received a lot of compliments for this and some strangers often asked me what is my perfume. this is good in winter..i wish Gucci will re-born this again...spashhebah!!!....

          gray09

AHHH Gucci Rush! What a chic woody modern cedar/sandalwood cologne. Every time I wear it get tons of compliments. It embodies confidence and absolute class. Unfortunately it is long gone. I do have a bottle and have been trying to find a comparable replacement since the few remaining bottles on ebay are way over priced.

I have all of the five similar fragrances listed above. Each one is a lot like Gucci Rush when first applied but the dry downs are quite different.

For Ex. Ferrari Silver Essence has a rubber smell that is prominent in all the latest Ferrari scents. Comme des gar?on Wonderland has an Oud note that becomes prominent in the dry down. Visit is close but smells like a synthetic Gucci Rush. Satoriale is way too sweet the wood disappears and sweet powder takes over.

There is one that is very similar that is not listed. It is the closest I have found in my research. Trend lui by Les Copains. The listed ingredients are quite different but to my nose it smells exactly like Gucci Rush especially in the dry down. It has sadly been discontinued as well, but it can still be found really cheap on beautyencounter.com, under $35.00 for 3.3 oz.

I bought a couple of bottles to load up before it too is gone forever! If your looking for a replacement for the amazing Gucci Rush, Trend Lui is it. Better act fast!

          mrbees

One of the best colognes ever.

          Tracyarts

My husband bought this for himself several years ago but got tired of it fast. On a whim I sprayed some on my wrist because I adore woodsy and spicy fragrances and it turned out to be a match made in heaven with my body chemistry. On me, I get the sandalwood, but also lots of spice notes and a sweetness that makes it absolutely gender-neutral. I have been using it sparingly in fall and winter ever since, and hope that some day Gucci decides to bring this one back, exactly as it was.

          Ginngenie

This is my man's most sexy scent. Makes me feel like doing naughty things! Used only sparingly now but when it is ...

          Why was it discontinued?????? :-(((

          kida2010

Amazing scent, cheap versions = Azzaro Visit and tumulte.
Its another gucci masterpiece but have came across quite a few that remind me of it.
Incense is definately there, with sandalwood and cedar.

          LongIslandLPN

All my girlfirend in highschool had Gucci Rush around 10th grade 2003- 2004. I love Gucci rush it is sexy, sultry and really awesome. I loved it on them and was constantly surounded by it that I decided to get Gucci rush for men. I remember it being way too musky and spicey and manly in a bad way. It was the complete manly 180 from Gucci Rush. I wanted something more in the middle. I havent smelled or seen Gucci rish in at least 5 or 6 years until I was strolling through the womens section of Sephora (usually I stay on the guys side for obvious reasons lol). I took one whif and it instantly brought back so many memories!! It smells so sexy I love it. I think I may order a sample and try it out or layer it with something more manly Lets see if i could pull it off I dont think it is overtly girly.

          oxm

Gucci Rush is amazing, fresh and sweetly spicy thin, a majestic wooden stands between all its components and cascade spices in a soft gentle mist of September, has not the strength of the classics in terms of persistence and persuasive but never cloying, also gives a smoky trail of something that makes it even more chic.In this fragrance Gucci revives the splendor of its past, Rush is pure class I think it can also be worn by youngsters this fragrance reminds me of Krizia Time Rush but is much more good, and call it even savage, I love the name, by the sense of something fast and futuristic that leads me to imagine a race of galactic spacecraft around the rings of Saturn.
          excellent

          KeithScar

Gucci Rush was an awesome fragrance that was sadly discontinued. I got this as a gift from my grand dad back in high school and i fell in love with it since then. Rush is a zesty woodsy scent that can be easily worn casualy in the daytime. I rarely wear this since its discontinued but when i do wear it I get compliments and questions from plenty of women & men

          bammo_kun

I used this cologne late 2001 and i received great compliments all the time

          dancinleroy

This stuff is so amazingly simple but awesome. It smells very powdery/woody. The sandalwood, lavender and patchouli are very noticable for me which I love. Very classy and sophisticated so I would say that ages 25+ should be the only costumers for this, if it were still around. Otherwise get ready to pay a hefty price for whatever is left floating around on the imternet market.

          VanAllan

This is one of the few discontinued fragrances that I was looking very hard to find, reading so many reviews about how good it is (was).
So there it is....a nice tester bottle quarter full sitting below the desk in a small perfumery shop. Raving to try it, I've put a super large spritz on my wrist and wait the result:
In the first minute I was overwhelmed by the spicy-dry smell coming most probably from lavender-cypress-juniper combination, that after only a few minutes evolved in a smooth, soft & little incensy sandalwood-cedar accord.
Here it became very very similar to Azzaro Visit, one of my most preferred, only that Rush is less intense and sweet (fresher).
Until I left the shopping area 30 minutes later, the fragrance reached its drydown with more santal and some patchouli/musk traces, in a faint smell.
What can I say in conclusion: overall I liked it, being a dry spicy-woody frag, but unfortunatelly the longevity was really poor and sillage barelly detectable after 10 minutes.
In a way I'm glad I didn't pay an arm & a leg for it blindly when I had the chance. I love Visit and I'm sure it has much more longevity & sillage than Rush, which, as other reviewers said, could be an option released in a more intense version.

I HAD WORN A LOT OF PARFUMES OVER THE YEARS AND THEN WHEN I FINALLY FOUND MY SENT- GUCCI RUSH, SOMEONE DICIDED THAT IT WILL BE DISCONETED, BECAUSE IT SELS TOO GOOD AND OTHER UPCOMING GUCCI PARFUMES WONT SELL AS GOOD AS THEY SCHOULD IF THE RUSH WILL STILL BE ON THE MARKET. THAN I ASKED MY SELF WHY DIDNT THEY DISCONECTED WOMENS RUSH TOO THAN? i WILL TELL YOU WHY-BECAUSE WOMENS RUSH WASN SELLING AS GOOD AS RUSH FOR MEN.
EXAMPLE OF GOOD ECONOMY- DISCONECT THE PARFUME THAT SELLS GOOD EAVEN THE NEW SENTS WONT SELL AS GOOD AS RUSH.
GUCCI RUSH WAS THE BEST PARFUME EVER MADE!!!
I HAVE WORN IT FOR A YEAR AND NOT A DAY WENT BY THAT SOME ONE DIDNT COMPLIMENTED MY PARFUME OR ASKED ME WITCH PARFUME AM I WEARING...

GUCCI RUSH WAS THE BEST PARFUME EVER MADE!!!

          zdeno.gafrik

that was one of my most favourite fragrances. I loved it and missed it so much. Never find right supplement. Gucci Rush for men was the only one and it′s so sad they stopped to produce it....

          Endymion

Is that true that Pal Zileri's Sartiorale is similar to Rush for men?
Please, confirm it if you know Sartiorale!
I couldn't find a good replacement for Rush for men :(

          FrankyBerry

Gucci told me they discontinued it because of one of the wood product was getting harder and harder to get (sandal?). I miss it dearly.

          prettyliscious

I don't know why they have to discontinue this scent. It is my husband's signatured scent. :( I really love this scent. ;(

          Mushroomfat

I fexkin love this! I wasn't fussed on the first spray, but once it dried down pepper and musks! The pyramid doesn't have pepper, but wow! Spicy wood, I love it.

          dvbdvb

this one isn't for me, it has good lasting power, but the overall aroma is somehow i hate it ...

          lpolinyane

This was my first real introduction to fragrances. I bought it with its deodorant stick. This baby is good and its scent life is fantastic. I kept it for almost 3 years until my bro decided to take it & keep it. It was a sad loss. I wish they'd bring it back and i would buy it in a flash!!!

          ryguy17

i just found this, on ultrafragrances.com..anyone ever used that site?

          thatsmr2usir

WTH was Gucci thinking when they created this mess??? It does not smell pleasant, it smells of an old air freshener that you have had locked away for 20 years+! I would not recommend this to anyone... Its terrible! Im glad it has been discontinued!!!

          Dad jax

I havent tried this one yet but i am damn sure like other Gucci perfumes it will for sure be cool with very poor lasting power!

          kisherceg

The sexiest male perfume has ever made...Not only the much sandalwood but the incense, which is not listed as note..It gave a special "aura"..It's a shame that it's discontinued.

          Update:
the good news: last week I bought the new Oriflame Ascendant Pure (in white bottle, new edition) and it smells almost exactly like Gucci Rush for men. Top notes seems a bit different, but 15 minutes later and especially the drydown ( cedar + sandalwood + incense + musk) is identical to Gucci Rush.

the bad news: the weak points of this new Oriflame scent are the same as the weaknesses of Rush were: sillage and longevity is below the average.
But at least Ascendant Pure is available and price is reasonable (cca 25-30 $,when it's on sale cca 15-20 $)

It's worth to try for replacement of Rush.

          nattonline

I have been out of these for almost three years now so I can't really tell you how it smells but its impression. Gucci Rush for Men is very sexy spicy spices and yet sweet and pungent scent. It's very aromatic that leaves a wonderful scent trail for others give you some attention. It's like an aphrodisiac for mankind, and it's great for date and party/club scene. I regret that I didn't purchase a bigger bottle or any extra at time because it is now discontinued and if I find one, it's ridiculously expensive! I am hoping one day Gucci will relaunch it just like Versace did with Versus for Woman.

          aFineNose

Though a huge fan of Envy (actually, bought this because of that), Rush lives up to it's name: they were clearly not thinking but blinded by the success of Envy. This is vile, and way to sharp with musk. I used it a few times to see if it would grow on me, but gave up on it. Cheap and nasty, just like the bottle: already in the shops the white metal parts would spontaneously come off.

          4xxx4

yeah? the sexiest scent ever made?? but it s a discontinued, right?? so i agree with guest_Guest - try Pal Zileri sartoriale,,,it s practicly same scent, but with a even beter longevity, and even more sexy feeling in it!!! dont hesitate a try it, until it s available

          andrew85

OMG, one of the sexiest scent ever made. love this.. it's a shame that it's discontinued.

          BeautifulDreamer

This one is on my top 5 list...it has everything, distant beauty and mystic sensuality, animal magnetism and gentle notes. It's almost perfect...9.5/10

          Cassiano

Gucci Rush is a kind of fragrance that differs from the others on the market (at least until it was released).
I didn't give the proper attention to it by the time I had the chance to stay with 1 bottle for me, and now I regret a lot!

It is a dry fragrance, with an aroma of successful man, which doesn't attack the other people's noses and detaches itself from the other fragrances around you.

What I'm gonna say can sound strange, but I really felt suede on it!
The bottle is simply and, at the same time, special! The white color makes the whole thing more sophisticated. Unfortunately, they have discontinued this one!

          benzippo

Sandalwood, sandalwood and sandalwood accord to the extreme which I simply loved as it smells like when I'm in a tranquil Temple of worship but unfortunately the fragrance does not last on me despite me loving it to the core.

          Omnia_Insomnia

That's a spicy sexy wood, very sophisticated though. I keep buying the rests of it...

          Maddyrain

Thank God there's Christian Lacroix's Tumulte to replace this one. Very nice woody and incense fragrance, but with a total lack of staying power.

          thomkallor

True, this one is hard to find, but not impossible. For me, all about the sandalwood and a light elegant musk. Intimate and classy if not a tad wispy. The packaging is dynamite! A winner and a favorite.

          ***EDIT 6/13***

While the packaging is adorable, it is flawed - over time, it literally fell apart, leaking the juice. Not cute!! Especially now it is so hard to replace! I bought a bottle of Azzaro VISIT to soothe me - a pretty close relative with a slightly sharper bite.....

          knightz

Absolutely classy, refined and elegant. Gucci scents are always rich but subtle, and this one is no exception. I primarily smell Lavender and light Incense on Sandalwood in Gucci Rush for Men. The ingredients are so well mixed that it's hard to believe that such a small number of notes could smell so much like wealth, power, and success.

Sillage is close and longevity is a little short. As good as Rush is, I still prefer Gucci Envy. Rush is discontinued and, when it can be found, is going for a premium price. I would recommend trying Envy first. Rush is a little lighter, but just as classy.

          deli_s

My favorite male scent! It makes me think of sexy things...

          asfa

its so super perfume why not sell it enymore?its so spicy

          Alexey

It was withdrawn from the market....

          Why, GOD, o why?
