Fragrantica is an online encyclopedia of perfumes, a perfume magazine and a community of perfume lovers. Fragrantica informs their readers about new perfume launches, about famous fragrances and less-known but wonderful scents. Together we travel in time and space, where perfumes are the shining stars we use to navigate. We learn about their history, we discover far-away places and respectfully explore the life we see around us, always taking time to be amazed by Nature. Fragrantica is a place to learn from each other and relax in the company of your soul mates.
Fragrantica is an independent magazine, based in San Diego (California, USA). Fragrantica is available in several different languages and is open to everybody. You are welcome to contribute your reviews, read our articles and other content for your individual information, and to take part in our forum discussions as well. We only ask you to be considerate of each other to enable everyone to enjoy their experience.

Elena Knezhevich founded Fragrantica together with Zoran Knezevic in 2007. Since then Elena has taken care of its design and content as the Editor-in-Chief. Elena was born in Russia, studied Slavic languages and literature in Moscow, and lived in Sarajevo and Belgrade, where the idea of Fragrantica was born. Now she resides in California.

Zoran Knezevic is the co-founder of Fragrantica with Elena Knezhevich. He studied and later taught mechanical engineering at Sarajevo University. He has a software development work background and vast dot-com web technology experience. Zoran's primary focus is on the development and maintenance of the technology of Fragrantica but also is responsible for things like finance, marketing, and sales.

Bella van der Weerd studied Communications at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands, and joined the Fragrantica team in May 2012 to start up the Dutch sister site of Fragrantica.com. She assists in designing, editing articles and contributes as a writer.

Sandrina started her work on Fragrantica from the very beginning of the site. Beth joined the Fragrantica team in October 2018. She studied English and Education at William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri, and holds a Master’s in Library and Information Science from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She prefers elegant and heady floral perfumes, as well as fruity-florals and gourmands, and will forever be in pursuit of the next perfect vanilla.

John Biebel (johngreenink) is a painter, writer and software designer currently living and working in Rhode Island, US. He is a graduate of the Cooper Union in New York City where he received his BFA in painting and photography. Edis is one of three people in the conversation that initiated exploration of the idea of making perfume reviews website. Edis a close friend of Elena and Zoran he was always an insider of the Fragrantica project from inception. His understanding of the inner workings of social media led to finally taking an official position in Fragrantica team as a Social Media Manager.

Elena was born in Moscow. She studied at the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography and at the Philological faculty of Moscow State University. She is the author of several novels (some of those written under the pen name of Elena Klemm) and specializes in writing biographical books. She loves history, Gothic novels, tales of terror, ancient cemeteries and old maisons, St. Petersburg, Carcassonne, Blois, Siena, Toledo, and Cesky Krumlov. Her enamorment with perfumes dates back to her childhood, and now she has a profound collection of perfumes significant for her.

Elena Vosnaki is a historian, archaeologist and fragrance author. She has written for Fragrantica since 2009. Vosnaki has worked as the Perfume History Curator for the Milan EXPO 2015, and as a guest lecturer at the Athens School of Fine Arts. She is the founder & editor of Perfume Shrine, one of the most respected independent online publications on scent. Her writing has been twice shortlisted in FIFI Editorial Excellence Awards and is extensively quoted by authors. Emir Imamovi? joined the Fragrantica team in 2012. Fragrantica was rapidly growing and many software solutions services available today did not even exist. Emir participated in developing solutions and solving technological challenges in scaling Fragrantica to support serving millions of users and building a robust and secure platform. Now, Emir mainly maintains the platform and works on the development of new features.
Helen Augusto Writer
A Brazilian author and translator, Helen Augusto has always been attracted to the fascinating world of fragrance. After working for more than 20 years as Sales Executive at Givaudan, she was excited to follow her aspiration of keeping connected with perfumery, consumers and industry with her Youtube channel, where she shares her knowledge and enthusiasm for perfume. Helen has a solid technical and conceptual approach, but she also likes to be a storyteller, talking about her ongoing enconters with different ingredients and perfumes. She believes fragrance awakes strong emotions.

Igor is an interpreter and journalist, a longtime reader and an active user of the Russian Fragrantica. Ksenia was born in Mozambique, and spent her childhood in Italy. Later she traveled the European North, and fell in love with Scandinavian visual art.
